Jayashree Sivakumar

Jayashree Sivakumar is an associate lawyer at Richards Advocacy, maintaining a broad practice across all areas at the firm, including litigation, subrogation, insurance coverage, and investigations.

Jayashree completed her law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to law school, Jayashree completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Windsor, where she received several awards and scholarships for academics and community leadership.

During her time at law school, Jayashree enrolled in the Community Legal & Services Program and advocated for clients facing intersecting social, legal and medical issues. She used her client experiences to engage in informed advocacy for mental health services with CAMH advisories. In 2020, Jayashree was awarded the Wendy Babcock Social Justice Award for her commitment to serving the public interest.

Prior to joining the firm, Jayashree articled at a boutique litigation firm in downtown Toronto and worked at Canada’s leading research hospital where she drafted and negotiated a high volume of contracts and sharpened her business acumen by proactively managing business needs and mitigating legal risks.
